GOLDEN DINNER DAY
1
Again we meet in happy family greeting
And gather here from places far away
Although our earthly homes be ever fleeting
We all celebrate this Golden Dinner Day
Chorus
Let us hail with joy this Wednesday morning
And let each face be with cheerful rays
While rocks and hills the sun is found adorning
Lets celebrate "These Golden Dinner Days"
2
When first our parents parted dear old Ireland
Ye went their lonely voyage .......the way
The parting shook full many a tinder haul
And bade a sad farewell to Sligo Bay
3
But soon they reached the banks of fair Ontario
And found them selves a quiet little home.
But oft they sighed for a days of long ago
4
The saddest fate of all I can relate
Is of a long to be remembered day
When Mother passed the pale Heaven's gate
And beneath the sod was laid her lifeless clay
5
But wandering we are in sadness and in sorrow
Poor Father spent his few remaining years
Till finally he saw a bright tomorrow
And reached the land so far from death and sorrow
6
Then let us seek a home with them up yonder
No more ......life's rough .......there ......
But on the banks of "Beulah Land" we'll wander
And walk the streets with loved ones side by side.
